Chef Okuda was born in Tsuruoka City of Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. He studied Italian cuisine and French cuisine, Italian gelato and authentic French pastries in particular. Inspired by his experience in Genoa, Italy, where he served "Oil Sushi" using the Yukiwakamaru rice, he opened a restaurant in Ginza called "BAYSIDE SAKURA OLION-SUSHI" with a signature dish of "Oil Sushi".
Mr. Okuda uses safe, high-quality Japanese seafood, such as premium local fish nurtured by the abundant spring waters and rivers of the Mt. Fuji foothills — including the exceptional Fuji Salmon. This world-class chef introduces the appeal of "Oil Sushi", a new gourmet experience born from the harmonious blend of salt and oil.

Showcasing the charms of Japan's regions through Japan's Beloved Characters

Produced by Japan Local Character Association

Japan’s iconic local characters (yuru-chara), beloved across the country, will gather in Bangkok, Thailand! Through introductions of each character, you will know more about their regions’ specialties and unique charms.
You will meet Hikonyan from Hikone City(one of the first Japan’s local mascots), Shinjō-kun from Susaki City (his author was inspired by the last confirmed Japanese river otter sighting in the Shinjō River) and Inunakin from Izumisano City, a justice-driven character reimagined by Yudetamago, the creator of Kinnikuman. All these characters will make an appearance at the exhibition, showcasing their unique personalities.
